My favorites of this year's spooky season movies were Silent Night, Deadly Night, the original 1984 version not the new one that just came out. Also, its sequels don't seem worth watching. House, a fun, yet haunting Japanese film about the consequences of past trauma. And, Spirited Away which had the right level of odd, animated, Miyazaki vibes.

While not necessarily a spooky season watch, Nichole and I started watching Dexter, which is a murder show that could fit the category. It's a fun series showing how far from black and white things can get, and is full of surprises.

Released in time for spooky season, I've been looking forward to this video game sequel for years. And it doesn't disappoint! It captures the storytelling and character development of the original game and does justice to the lore of the table top game it's based on. It also adds a stylish original approach, with fun game mechanics.
