Tips on working from home

The recent need to work from home prompted me to put together my own tips for how I've been working from home for years. Specifically, how I try to do it in a way that keeps things calm and focused.

Guidelines for writing content

My recent post on the Blocks Edit blog is a primer on the things you want to make sure you keep in mind when writing any piece of content -- marketing email, blog post, website landing page, etc -- and how having guidelines to work off of not only makes your writing easier, but clearer.

On coronavirus

You're probably tired of hearing about it all the time as you're hunkering down in your home as much as possible trying to keep yourself occupied, but it's tough not to want to stay somewhat informed as we all try to do all we can to make sure we're staying safe and keeping loved ones safe. But I'll keep it down to three things: Advice on avoiding a viral illness from someone that has had to do it before, how to do everyday things, and a lighter one: why everyone is hoarding toilette paper.

Video game play throughs

As part of my own home quarantine, I've been watching play throughs of a couple of recent game releases of note: Doom Eternal and Half-Life: Alyx, a VR game. Both fun, even when watching someone else playing. Otherwise, for best play experience, Doom should best be played on a beefed up PC with a keyboard and mouse, and Alyx requires a high end VR setup. So in this case, play throughs are a good alternative.

More things enjoy while at home

And if you'd like some more things to check out, I've recently updated my all-time favorites list of books, comics, movies, shows, and video games.
