The ovidem.com website blog has been reorganized under Articles. Posts have been separated from links, and links get their own page, along with added descriptions. Both articles and links also have category labels added for a quick idea of what they're about.

I wrote a post on Blocks Edit about how Microsoft is finally deciding to update the core technology behind its Outlook for Windows email client. It gets into some technical details, but my introductory rant will give you an idea of how big of a deal it is for email developers who have had to put up with it for so, many, years!

The Steve Jobs Archive project has released a book called Make Something Wonderful. It's a collection of speeches, interviews, and emails by Steve Jobs. His more well-known views on making products, design, and life pursuits, are all in there. But what I found most interesting is his thoughts on leadership and running a company.

There are a few infamous stories on how he can be an asshole to people, but he really put a lot of attention to recruiting and company culture at Apple (and Pixar). He understood the importance of finding talented people and having an environment for them to do their best work.

Available in its entirety on Netflix, at exactly 100 episodes, The 100 is an interesting show in the sci-fi themes it covers, and fun in the way my girlfriend and I enjoy yelling at the characters we love while watching it!
