Blocks Edit's first conferenceWhile I've been going to a few marketing conferences this past year to learn and meet people, this past week was the first time we had a booth setup for Blocks Edit in Detroit, at Digital Summit. It was a rewarding experience hearing so many stories from people that stopped by on how they're frustrated with their current email tools and get what BE is all about! Marketing and Jobs-to-be-DoneSpeaking of marketing and solving problems, a key technique that I've been looking at this past year is the Jobs-to-be-Done method, which focuses on the problem someone has that might lead them to seeking out your product or service. Lately, I've been reading through Intercom's ebooks. They have one on marketing that touches on Jobs-to-be-Done, and another solely on the topic. The Blacklist and Boston LegalMy recent evenings of unwinding from work have been spent watching The Blacklist on Netflix, which I originally started a couple of years ago and am catching up on again. I just finished season 4. I've also started watching Boston Legal on Hulu which I'm a season and a half into so far. It's become a good, lighter counter-balance to the sometimes intense episodes of The Blacklist. And coincidentally, both series star James Spader who you can not go wrong with! The Hard Work of Being LazyThis great, short YouTube video shows how much effort goes into putting things off by keeping our selves unnecessarily busy, and how we should practice being still from time to time as a way of better figuring out our course.
