Email marketing for web developers talkEarlier last month I gave a talk at Desert Code Camp on email marketing opportunities for developers. I've posted slides and notes for it here. Whether you're currently a developer or are interested in trying out coding, the talk will give you an overview of how email code works in email marketing campaigns and the best way to approach them. I'll also be giving the talk again at The Web Design and Development Meetup on January 21st if you want to see me give it live. On a side note, comiXology is featuring my comic, Lifehacks as part of their Indie Mystery and Suspense Sale starting tomorrow. Recommendations and stuffMy reading streak continues! This month I focused on business-related books, finishing It Doesn't Have to Be Crazy at Work by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson of Basecamp fame, and who also wrote the excellent Rework. It's a great succinct read on how to work more calmly in an age that demands immediacy. I'm also reading Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne and which I'm still not quite finished with since it's unfortunately not as efficient in its writing style. Earlier in the month I read a fun indie comic: Punk Rock & Trailer Parks by Derf Backderf. And I watched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure again in anticipation for the reported sequel being worked on. |
