This blog post does a good job of covering the significant ways that CSS has evolved in the last couple of years. The updates are so significant that there's a trend where designers that can also code CSS have been designing directly with CSS as they run into limitations with using traditional design tools.

I'm surprised I haven't seen it before, but I watched Harriet the Spy with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it. It's not specifically a holiday movie, but it's a feel good film that might as well be added the holiday watchlist.
