Myst's 25 years of inspirationI've been enjoying the festivities of the celebration of Myst's 25th anniversary this year and wrote not one, but two blog posts about how the original game and its sequels inspired me while growing up to become an interactive designer and writer. Writing a guideMy latest writing and design work (which I've spent this past month on) comes in the form of an email marketing guide I put together. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out and it was fun doing the research on some of the stuff I didn't know enough about. Share it with your marketing friends and get cool points with them! Recommendations and stuffI'm going to start with a category I usually forget about, music. I've added my top five fave Electric Six songs to my favorite's playlist: Synthesizer (Which includes this great line: "In the end, technology unto the world will set us free"), Dance Pattern, Randy's Hot Tonight!, Steal Your Bones, and The Future is in the Future. If you use Apple Music, search for my "Ovi's Faves" playlist to see them added. Also in the music category, I'd like to give an honorable mention I missed last month: the Cardi B album, Invasion of Privacy, that my friend turned me on to. I haven't been watching much TV lately, but I have discovered the joy of Gravity Falls and proceeded to binge-watch the entire series these past few weeks. It's endless fun! Well, actually, it's only two seasons, but a total of 40 solid episodes, all now on Hulu! Along with these additional shorts available on YouTube. That's all for the month! Anyone else out there Myst or Gravity Falls fans? I talked to a few at Comic Fest so I know you're out there! Reply back and tell me something I may not know about either of the series. |
