Re-Wired: Issues 4-6
Reading time: 1-2 minutes
Wired Magazine has all of its articles archived online since its very first issue. Below is my highlight of articles to check out in issues 4-6. My overview of issues 1-3 is available here.
- 1.04: When Bandwidth Is Free - an interview with George Gilder about how fiber optics is the future of internet connectivity and all communications. Because of how fiber optics technology works, he believes that cost will eventually be so low that it will be free in much the same way transistor components are used for computers. Google recently launched its Fiber internet service in its first town which means we're on our way there.
- 1.05: Nowhere to Hide - since the early days of the internet and the information age, there has been the issue of privacy. But why is it really an issue and why should it be a cause of concern? The author makes some interesting points in this short article.
- 1.06: I could not find an article that was really worth mentioning in this issue.
